Internationalization of the retail industry has gained much prominence in the fields of managerial practice and academic discussion from the 1990s. This trend has been strengthened after the turn of the century since many retailing firms from Japan, United States, and EU have set up overseas operations in goods sourcing and as well as store management.This article focuses on the issue of the international transfer of the retail system. Up to now, many researches have attempted to explain the mechanism of international transfer of the retail system, but the firms examined in previous studies possess vast difference in both environmental and competitive factors, so the hurdle for drawing general proposition or hypothesis are still kept high. We need to establish the framework to explain the general retailer's management action of the international transfer of retail system it is still incomplete.After a literature reviews of standardization-adaptation strategy relating to the international transfer of retailer, focused on conceptual framework linking market characteristic business structure, retail management action and performances for further research.
